How Live Roulette is Played

Roulette, a gambling game that features slots for numbers 1 to 36 as well as either one or two slots for zeroes. Players stand around a table where the roulette wheel is laid out, and this is where bets are placed.

You can place bets until the dealer closes the betting session. Players bet on which red and black numbered compartment of the revolving wheel.

Once all bets are placed, the dealer spins the wheel and throws a small, marble-sized ball into it that spins in the opposite direction.

The ball will eventually fall into one of the marked slots, which determines which bet receives a payout.

Although there are numerous varieties of roulette accessible around the world, the basic rules of the game stay the same. Explore some other versions of roulette.

How to bet in Roulette

Placing a bet on the live roulette table is simple, all you need to do is pick your desired amount(minimum bet for that lobby), decide which bet you want to make, go through it, or you can place as many bets as you.

After players have placed their bets, the croupier sets the wheel spinning before flicking the ball around the edge in the opposite direction.

Sometimes the wheel is spun one way, and other times it alternates between clockwise and Anti-clockwise.

Once a ball falls in one marked slot i.e ball stops in numbers between 0-36, dealers call the winning number.

If your bet wins, you’ll receive a payout equal to the odds for that bet. However, if you lose your chips are taken and your bankroll will be depleted.

How to make Roulette Bets

As we have already mentioned you can’t bet once the dealer closes the betting session before the session closes.

There are basic groups of bets that every player should be familiar with because they determine roulette payouts.

The first group is known as inside bets, and the second group is outside bets. Let’s have a close look.

Inside Bets

If you take a better look at the roulette table layout, you’ll notice the main part consists of the numbers from 0-36. The rest are sectors for betting on groups of numbers: odd/even, red/black, 1-18/19-36, column, and dozens.

Bets that are placed on the number are called “inside” and bets placed on other sections of the board are called “outside”.

There are seven types of inside roulette bets and payout, as described and illustrated below:

  • Straight Up

A Straight bet is made on a single number (5,10,24). In order to make this bet place the chip inside the square of the number with odds of 35:1 meaning an INR 1 bet would result in an INR 35 payout.

  • Split

A split bet placed across two numbers makes this bet by placing the chip on a shared edge between the numbers and has a payout of 17:1.

  • Street

A street bet, which may also be called a line bet covers three numbers on a single verticle line and has a payout of 11:1.

  • Corner

A corner or square bet covers four numbers placed by putting the common corner of the four numbers and has a payout of 8:1.

  • Line

A line or six-line also called a double street bet covers six numbers, places the chip on the outer corner of the two-line, and has a payout of 5:1.

  • Trio

A Trio bet is placed across a three-number that includes the zero and two adjacent numbers and has a payout of 11:1.

  • Basket

This is a special case, there is an additional inside bet that is available for certain variations. Bet on 0-1-2-3 is only available for the European roulette. Whereas American roulette covers 00-0-1-2-3.

Outside Bets

Here are the outside bets and payout placed at the roulette table

  1. Low or High

2. Red or Black

This bet is placed on numbers which are either red or black and has a payout of 1:1.

3. Even or Odd
